Kit is now an even better place to discover, discuss, and buy products. We’re thrilled to announce Kit has raised more than $2.5M in seed funding from an amazing syndicate of investors including Social Capital, Precursor Ventures, April Underwood, Ellen Pao, Authentic Ventures, Black Angel Tech Fund, and Expa. Our business has grown more than 10x in the past 6 months, and we’ll use this funding to continue to improve Kit and to build our community.
Today we’re also excited to announce Ask Kit, an experimental service to answer your questions about products via Amazon Alexa and Twitter. If you have an Amazon Alexa device, enable Kit to simply “Ask Kit” for the best products, and get recommendations from people who know best. Or try pinging @AskKitBot on Twitter with a product question, and we’ll get you the info you need. We’re excited that Kit can help answer questions this way, and we’d love your feedback as we continue to improve the service.
For the past year we’ve focused on building tools that make it easy and fun for anyone to share the products they know work best from real life experience. The enthusiasm we’ve seen from influential creators on platforms like YouTube, Instagram, and Twitch has been overwhelming and positive. Today, thousands of people like YouTube gamer iHasCupquake and tech reviewer Techsource regularly use Kit to share their favorite products with their fans; and we can now find hundreds of thousands of products that have been added to the Kit platform — everything from kits for your desk setup, to kits for filming a wedding, to kits for your mental health.
Our new investors were excited by the early positive response and traction we’re seeing. Each investor brings a unique perspective to Kit, and their input and insight will be incredibly valuable to us as we continue to build our company and community.
For those who have been with us since we launched — thank you. Our success is based on your happiness. And if you haven’t tried us out — we’d love for you to join us! See you on Kit 🙂
