1) Your Kit profile says “So gifted at finding what I don’t like the most.” Whatdya mean?
Hahaha it’s a lyric from Kanye’s “Runaway”…it means ya girl is particular about things.
2) Describe your DJ style or sound.
It’s mostly me standing behind the booth trying to discretely Google “what songs are cool?”
3) What’s your go-to song(s) for making people lose their minds on the dancefloor?
Kalkutta and Rihanna on Good Morning America
Right now, Rihanna’s “Work” and Biebz “Sorry” (which is actual sorcery) are really killin’ it for me, but over the course of a night I love to do a bunch of different throwback sets. I have one crate simply called ‘Warped Tour’ in my Serato and another entitled ‘Murda Inc’ so do with that what you will.
4) You’re funny. Who or what makes *you* laugh?
Ugh, Twitter. Broad City. Jus Reign. All Mariah Carey GIFs. Being petty. Just a whole cornucopia of Millennial Trash. A badge I wear with honor.
5) Your kits have two of the sweetest backpacks around. What are the qualities of a must-have pack?
It has to say “I could be a high school sophomore,” but also “I could be an adult with a cool job.” Honestly, it’s a total mystery.
6) Fill in the blanks: My most prized possession is a deluxe box set of every Britney Spears single because it has literally every single up until “3” which, let’s face it, was really her peak.
7) If you could ask anyone to create a kit about anything, who would it be and why?
I would ask Beyoncé to make a kit of stuff she hates. We know the things she loves (feminism, amazing weave, her family, choreography), but what does Beyonce f***ing hate? A song? A food? A person? I wish she’d just tell us what SHE doesn’t like the most…(not so I can dislike the same exact things… honestly it’s probably coincidence.) Then she could also make a kit called ‘Stuff I need to make it rain on you hoes’ and the kit would be empty. EMPTY, I SAY!
8) Name three things you carry around with you everyday and why.
- sunglasses, essential for sparing my retinas from the paparazzi’s flashing lights
- a nail file, really helps maintain my general aesthetic of “bored/cool story/no really, i do care, i’m just busy right now”
- a vape pen, for….reasons.
