Geniuslink Acquires Kit

Kit, the largest social platform for creators to showcase their favorite products and setups, was acquired by Geniuslink, a bootstrapped intelligent short linking technology company out of Seattle, Washington.

At Geniuslink, our main purpose is to help creators earn more revenue with every link they share. Creators on Kit share thousands of products every day and we are excited to help these creators earn more to support their creative endeavors. Kit has been leveraging part of the Geniuslink technology, and we have been following and cheering on the Kit team since day one. When the Kit team was acquired by Patreon last year, we shared our desire to ensure Kit continued to thrive, as we’ve been so impressed with the product the team had built.

Here is what our co-founder Jesse Lakes, says about it:

“I first met Camille in 2009 when she helped get me ramped up with the iTunes Marketing Team and it was exciting to connect with her again in 2015 when she first started building Kit. I knew right away they were doing something really special.”

Today, we are excited to officially announce this acquisition, and get to work on making the platform an even better place for creators to share the products they love. By combining Kit’s scale and beautiful user interface with our best-in-class link monetization technology, we believe that we can make a huge impact in helping creators earn the living they deserve.

We talked to a couple of our clients about this and here is what YouTuber Justin Khanna said about our acquisition.

“As a creator that nerds out about gear with my audience and constantly gets asked for recommendations, I couldn’t be happier to hear about this news. Kit makes it super easy to create awesome pages but Geniuslink is a beast with back-end analytics and I’ve really enjoyed their choice pages for products and content. I’ve already stocked my Kit page with my favorite tools and necessities across cooking, travel and filming, and knowing Geniuslink has my back with their optimization frees me up to engage with more of the things that matter to me. Can’t wait to see what’s next!“

We feel enormous gratitude for all the work the original Kit team, as well as the Patreon team, have put in to allow for what will hopefully continue to be a very smooth transition. The first order of business for Geniuslink is to migrate Kit to the Geniuslink infrastructure and work to improve speed and reliability while our operations team dives into user support. We look forward to adding additional functionality for creators to monetize their kits in the coming months.
